Oh, pat... This was gorgeous. You already know that I loved this story, but to see it finally here -in it's definite form- was a wonderful treat.
I love how carefully you paced this story and how slowly the boys grow to understand and appreciate one another. I absolutely adored the stark contrast between Harry's optimistic cheerfulness and Severus'more reticent responses.
The small hints you gave of their different approaches to life were all brilliantly executed, allowing your readers to explore their differences in a way that made both characters more nuanced, more real.
Harry's initial certainty that someone will find them was almost as heartbreaking as Severus' adamant belief in the contrary. I loved seeing how, even through his confusion and terror, Harry's confidence in the fact that Severus will find a way to get them out of prison never actually wavers.
Severus' heartbreaking difficulty when it came to even thinking about Albus was a truly gorgeous touch, too. This is a beautiful tale, my friend. One that is angsty and warm and full of so much hopeful love in the end that it left me smiling softly to myself. Well done, pat. Well done indeed. :)
